Port of Kauai

Hi there,

We will be in Kauai for one day in Nov. on our Princess cruise and wondered if we can walk anywhere from where princess docks?:confused: On the web cam it looks like a huge parking lot in the middle of nowhere. We do not have a shore excursion booked for this port.

There is a great beach about a 10 min. walk from the ship, as well as a couple of mini mall type places along the 10 min. walk. Do a Goggle earth search and you will see it all. Also, there is usually a shuttle service to the mini mall.

You can walk.

 

There is a hotel nearby and a beach.

 

But there is not much more to do near the cruise ship dock.

There isn't much of interest near the port and if you haven't been before, it would be worth taking a tour, or even better, renting a car and exploring. Waimea Canyon is spectacular -- you could include a stop at Poipu:

Another option is to explore the north shore.
