lindyloo17 Posted October 15, 2012 #1 Share Posted October 15, 2012 We go on the Dubai cruise in Feb, my daughter would be made up if there is a slide in the pool. Any other info about the ship that will interest a 10 yr old girl please? Are the kids clubs good? Should we expect the pool to be packed solid? Thanks
cb at sea Posted October 15, 2012 #2 Share Posted October 15, 2012 Don't know about a slide....if there is, it's small, for little kids. Yes...the kid's clubs are great, and 10 years old is the PRIME age to enjoy all it has to offer! The pools will be quite busy on sea days....but there's lots of space around the pool area to sit...go up a level for less crowding. On port days, the pool will be virtually empty! Pomperaugrr Posted October 17, 2012 #4 Share Posted October 17, 2012 The Adventure Ocean staff is top notch. We cruised on the Serenade two years in a row with our daughters. They love the main dining room experience and are very adventurous with food. They are hooked on the roasted duck and escargot, but they would be very happy when dinner ended and they could head to adventure Ocean! They would often want to stay after 10:00 for the after hours fun, which allowed us to see shows, enjoy the casino, etc. My wife and I are both attorneys and work in the court system. We are very cautious about leaving our daughters in programs, but we were very comfortable with the set up and the rules, especially having two counselors with the kids at all times. Talent shows and organized activities were well done. Our daughters have been on 5 cruises starting when they were age 7 & 10. RCI has really met our expectations. The water slide does have set hours and there are nice lounge chairs for parents to watch the action. Just check the cruise compass for hours of operation. One additional note: If you have not cruised on a Radiance Class ship before, be sure to go to the outside seating area behind the Serenade's Windjammer. Everyone grabs tables near the entrance and front half of the Windjammer, but if you walk all the way to the back, there is an amazing (covered) outside dining area. There is a beautiful view of the wake and sea, while still offering some protection from the sun and rain. Most cruisers don't discover this treasure until 2/3 of the way through the cruise!
