Miami Port Drop Off Questions

We are planning on parking off-site, but we are trying to surprise our daughter with this cruise.

 

She is pretty easy to surprise. We are thinking about telling her that I have Cruise Critic friends that I want to send off at the port. That will give DH an excuse to drop her and me at the port, but without our suitcases. He will then park the car and take the free shuttle from our parking lot to the port with all of the luggage for the 3 of us. This will also give him a chance to put the luggage tags on.

 

Does anyone know if you need to show any cruise paperwork to get into somewhere that he can drop us off?

 

Do you have to pay the short term parking fee to drop someone off?

 

Any glitches that you see with our plan?

There is no security gate to go through at Port Miami. Have fun!

At this time they are not stopping cars.
