TravelSafe Cruise Insurance

Just wanted to let anyone know who ever wondered about the need for Cruise insurance about our recent experience with TravelSafe. We fortunately always take out cruise insurance but never had to use it until this past March, 2005. We were on 2 week cruise on the Island Princess in Hawaii and had to disembark on our 2nd port day due to a family medical emergency at home recquiring us to fly back to the Mainland. We filed the necessary paperwork recquired and were quite satisfied with the reimbursement, hasslefree. Our claim came under trip interruption coverage. I would not hesitate to use them again for our future cruises. Princess was also quite helpful with a very stressful situation in assisting us with airline reservations to quickly get us off the ship and back to the Mainland asap. Kudo's to TravelSafe and Princess!!!:)

I'm curious... what did they reimburse you for? Did they reimburse you for the unused cruise portion? ... What about the flights home?

Yes, they reimbursed us for the balance of the cruise not utilized (9 out of 15 days) as well as the airfare to return to the Mainland on the quickest non-stop flight available from Honolulu including the short flight from Hilo to Honolulu.
