iamsunnysarah Posted November 2, 2012 #28 Share Posted November 2, 2012 yay this is so exciting!!!! sure, we consume more than 2 bottles on a week-long cruise, but as others have said, nice to bring 2 of our favorite bottles to enjoy as well! sr4mjc Posted November 2, 2012 #29 Share Posted November 2, 2012 1.5 L bottles ? ;) Asking for the MIL here.. haha
spookwife Posted November 2, 2012 #30 Share Posted November 2, 2012 No way I'd pay $25 corkage fee on my $6 bottle!!!! That's insane! I'll stick to real liquor or beer! $25 is about standard for restaurants around here. and now my $60 bottle of Marinus just became an $85 dollar one( and ya know what.. STILL WORTH IT!!!) .. except we will most likely have it in our cabin as we have a lovely travel wine case that comes with a corkscrew and glasses. Oh happy happy joy joy.. it was one thing I wished Royal would have allowed and now they do!
bellarosa Posted November 2, 2012 #31 Share Posted November 2, 2012 Now maybe they will do this for bottle water as well as we like to buy our own and bring it onboard.
spookwife Posted November 2, 2012 #32 Share Posted November 2, 2012 OK... I'll stick my neck out there....:eek:It will be nice if they followed Celebrity's lead on the whole balcony smoking policy too.... It'd be nice to relax out there with a glass of wine smoke-free! ;) we can dream, Jayfo! maybe some day soon... ;)

Darkwolfe Posted November 2, 2012 #37 Share Posted November 2, 2012 Hmmm...wonder what they would say about a magnum.:p TSA made me check my magnum (.357 variety) last time I flew. But I don't think RCI is going to let me get away with open carry on board.;)
gambee Posted November 2, 2012 #38 Share Posted November 2, 2012 (edited) Yup just got of the phone with RCCL, in the room no fee. To open at the restaurant $25 each. Right in time for my cruise :D Edited November 2, 2012 by gambee
MS52 Posted November 2, 2012 #39 Share Posted November 2, 2012 FANTASTIC! Note to RCI....I'm still buying the wine package like I do every cruise. I just don't have to sneak the box wine on now for the stateroom!!! RCI hasn't lost anything on us - just made it nicer to cruise. Thank you. :D
Freo Posted November 2, 2012 #40 Share Posted November 2, 2012 A step in the right direction....... "Any word on beer or rum?"
luvscruising2007 Posted November 2, 2012 #41 Share Posted November 2, 2012 Will this be like the Carnival policy where you must put it in your carry on? I think we will definitely be bringing wine on board. And they won't lose a dime on us.
chaswelf Posted November 2, 2012 #42 Share Posted November 2, 2012 This is good news.. But this could cut into the rum runner business, now you just need a nice dark red wine bottle and a cork..
jakenashleysmom Posted November 2, 2012 #43 Share Posted November 2, 2012 It will be interesting to hear how this is handled. Now what kind of wine to bring....hmmmmm. We have 2 cabins booked for our family, 4 bottles of wine for us WAHOO! And no, they won't lose a dime from me. I'll still rack up a healthy tab unfortunately LOL! Lost_in_BC Posted November 2, 2012 #44 Share Posted November 2, 2012 (edited) Yay! This is a change for the better. I wonder if this will mean that their rule on ship purchased liquor will also change to reflect Celebrity's rules? Celebrity allows you to buy a bottle in their duty free shop and take it back to your cabin too. Now that would be really nice. :D Edited November 2, 2012 by Dandelion Wrangler

gambee Posted November 2, 2012 #47 Share Posted November 2, 2012 please clarify is it i bottle ppor 2 bottles each on ios 22nd nov ta thankyou 2 bottles per cabin. I am trying to confirm where you put the bottles. One guy told me in the big bags, but that does not make sense to me. How do they keep control on two bottles per cabin? zaknzoey Posted November 2, 2012 #48 Share Posted November 2, 2012 Hmm..... this is interesting! You would think they could update the website if it went into effect today. But I just checked, and it's not updated. Someone wrote that it was 2 bottles per cabin. So I guess a single cruiser (which I will be in December!!) would still be able to bring on two bottles??? Guess I'll have to wait until something "official" is posted to see.
zuggie Posted November 2, 2012 #49 Share Posted November 2, 2012 Next question - may I purchase a bottle of wine at a port stop and take it directly to my cabin?
sbuckner Posted November 2, 2012 #50 Share Posted November 2, 2012 I am wondering if they will allow champagne too??
