CruiserBruce Posted November 15, 2012 #2 Share Posted November 15, 2012 Holland America does the Med very well. Don't think you could go wrong. The N. Amsterdam is a great ship. Saw your question on the other board. A Collectors Cruise is a B2B where, in most cases, the second half is a different route than the first half. For example, we did a Noordam 20 day Collectors, which consisted of a 10 day Eastern Med paired with a 10 day Western Med. Best cruise of our 15 cruises. Best advice I can give is spend lots of time reading on this board to learn about Holland America, on the Med Ports boards to learn about your port stops, and join your Roll Call to see what others are doing on your cruise. Krazy Kruizers Posted November 15, 2012 #3 Share Posted November 15, 2012 We love Collectors Cruises (back-to-back) cruises. I feel that if you are going to go to all that hassle of flying and paying the high airline fares, then make the it worth while and stay for the second segment. Bu booking early you can choose the cabin you want for the entire Collectors Cruise.

Yes, flying to Europe is a major cost of the cruise so back-to-backs or collector cruises solve that problem by cutting it in half. The cost to get from the airport to the ship can also be considerable, something to keep in mind if you have the time for a b-to-b.
