Hello

We had an inside cabin, which we were more than happy with, on our first cruise. Nice and dark, but the wife wanted the bathroom light on, with door shut, just in case she needed to get up. We did not find it at all claustrophobic.

On disembarkation we noticed an empty balcony cabin, so we had a nose around and to cut a long story short next trip we had a balcony :D

We have booked balconies on our future trips, but nothing wrong with inside cabins.

We started our cruising life with insides because that's all we could afford. Now balconies are the minimum. We spend most afternoons sitting on the balcony reading or snoozing.

After probably 15 balcony cruises, we had occasion to take a short 4 day cruise and could only get a window cabin. We walked into the cabin and said "Where's our door?"

As we get to retirement and tight funds again, we will probably book insides and hope for upgrades.

Currently, we are balcony snobs.

With only 6 cruises, but all at least 10 days up to 17, we began with an OV, graduated to balconies up until our Australia cruises in 2014 and taking our daughter on her very first cruise, we will make the leap to our first JS. Of course this mainly was due to cost. We saved $$$$ by having our daughter in the JS with us vs her having her own room. Sitting out on your balcony at night listening to the ship moving thru the water and seeing the stars is so peaceful.
