Celebrity St. John excursion

We would like to go to St. John on the Celebrity excursion, then hop in a cab and go to one of the beaches. The excursion runs from 9:30 - 4:00, with 3 1/2 hours of "free" time. That means that we will be sitting on a boat for a couple of hours to get there?? What is the boat like? Is the ride/tour of the coast line interesting? Can we get up and walk around?

 

We are just not sure how to do this. I have read all of the information about going ourselves, and would really just like to stick with the Celebrity excursion for this one. This is such a port intensive cruise. By the St. Thomas day, we will be ready for someone else to tell us what to do! (We will be on the Summit). Thanks.
