Hi all,

Went on our first cruise this year with Royal Caribbean and, as confidently predicted on this forum, have caught the bug and booked again for next summer.

Our first cruise, was the Med, mainly Spain, and the ports were all pretty accessible by taxi or bus, so we did not book any excursions. However, next year's cruise includes Citavecchia and Livorno, and we are looking at excursions for these ports.

We booked the cruise through a UK travel agent and they have recommended we use Cruising Excursions.com, does anyone have any experiences of using this tour operator?

Also, if you feel confident enough on your own, there is good train service from Civitavecchia to Rome (slightly more than an hour each way) and from Livorno to Pisa or Florence. (Florence takes about an hour and a half from Livorno; Pisa much closer.)

Many posts here give details on how to do this on your own, most who report back (including myself) see a lot and enjoy their day at minimum cost.
