Cozumel beach questions

top of the world

Recommended Posts

We will be on the Crown Princess at the end of February.

Does anyone know where we dock in Cozumel?

Are we far from town? Close enough to walk?

Is there anything to see or do close to the pier?

Is there a beach you can walk to like they have in Roatan? Spending a whole day at a beach maybe too much for us, but one hour or so would be nice.

How cold is the water in Cozumel when we'll be there (Feb. 28th)?

Thanks for your help,

Lise

http://cruiseportinsider.com/cozumelschedule2012.html to figure out which Coz pier your ship will dock at.

You should be fine with water temp in late Feb. The better/bigger beach clubs will be a short cab ride from the piers -- $12-15 each way for up to 4 in a cab, so pair up with others and save money for more margaritas. :D

Good luck! :)

Thanks John for the info. It is very helpful.

If anybody else has any other ideas, please feel free to share them...

A quick jaunt to one of the beach clubs will require a taxi (walking distance/area is not recommended--I don't recall any sidewalks or much of a shoulder for walking).

Have you considered hiring a driver for the day? We did this the last time we were in Cozumel and had a blast. You get to design the tour you want--spend some time downtown, check out the ruins at San Gervasio, explore the undeveloped east side of the island (there are some bar/restaurants there with yummy food and beautiful views), then head to one of the beach clubs for a couple of hours before heading back to the ship. There is an extensive thread here on the Cozumel board. Even if you decide not to hire a driver, you may get some good ideas for things to do.

ETA: Here's the link for hiring a driver

Good luck and have fun!

Cozumel is a fantastic port. It has just about everything imagineable, sailing, catamarans, snorkeling, history, touring, jungles, beaches, etc.

This is a port that I suggest you do some research and do the things that you wish.

Also, as suggested, the Private Driver is a great way to do lots of stuff and see quite a bit of the island.
