A short list of IOS Entertainment on 6 night cruise

I put this as a comment on another thread and thought I'd share it by itself so someone looking for this doesn't miss it.

First, here is a link to the daily cruise compasses:

The Production Showtime was Invitation to Dance and was very good. Good music and great dancing. This was on Day 2.

The Production Showtime on Day 5 was Once Upon a Time. I didn't see it but my daughter (26) did and said it was good too.

The Headliner Showtime was the dreaded Domenick Allen (the Foreigner guy). We were going to go see this but got busy doing other things and evidently we made the right decision. I have not heard one good thing about this show. While I can't review him since I didn't see him, the other reviews probably gave you a good idea. This was Day 3 only I believe.

The Ice Show Freeze Frame was really good. It was only originally scheduled for Day 2 and Day 4, however they added one more show on Day 6. It is worth seeing.

The late night comedian, Michael Dean Ester on Day 5 was really funny. I've seen where some were upset it was adult, however I assumed it was adult because of the time (11:30pm). Plus the preview he did during the Welcome Aboard Show on Day 1 definitely hinted to the adult side for the full show. Not sure how someone would not have figured that out!

The Love and Marriage Show on Day 4 was very funny. It really depends on the couples that get picked and ours were VERY funny.

We really enjoyed the singer, Zac Coombs at the Dog and Badger Pub every night. He had a great voice and played good songs which everyone usually ended up singing with him.

Rock the Boat was good too and usually played at the Pyramid Lounge. I enjoyed watching some of the "60 something" folks dancing up a storm to old classic rock. One tall guy danced with his hands in his pockets, never removing them. He was a hoot.

The Latin band Prestige at Boleros was really good too and wow, some of those folks could really dance there! This band performed poolside once too I believe.

They did usually have a calypso type band poolside that was good to get everyone in the tropical spirit.

I did poke my head into the Labyrinth a time or two. The music was loud and inviting if you wanted to "get your moves on". It was fun watching the younger folks dance, but I felt I might just be a little too old for this venue:(

The parades were great, especially the 70's Disco Inferno. Our cruise director Joff Eaton was great as John Travolta. They really got all the passengers in the Promenade involved and we really enjoyed it. That was my husbands era:D , I was just a baby then .

Once again, Joff Eaton the cruise director was really great!!

Ask me anything else, I'll be glad to help if I can.

I haven't specificaly looked, but never heard anything bad. Now you can say you have heard something good... We saw him on our Alaska cruise and thought the show was quite good. Its an eclectic mix of music though, so maybe not what everyone would expect. He definitely looks like a rocker... Long hair, leather vest, snakeskin boots, etc. Plays some rock, some jazz (he plays a mean jazz clarinet), plus a bunch of stuff from the collection of Sammy Davis Jr tunes that he owns the rights to.

They gave out Ice Show tickets 1st thing on Day 2 at tables set up in the Promenade. They went FAST. As for the other shows, we usually wandered down there about 10-15 minutes before they started and got seats just fine. For the comedian we got there right before he started and got seats. We did go to the late shows usually, so I'm not sure how the earlier ones were.

We've been on twice when joff has been on and I grew he's great ! In Europe he had a lady sidekick and his morning tv shows were hilarious but I've got to say the entertainment we get in Europe on rccl is a bit rubbish !! But celebrity was better in the med !!

Sailing on the IOS in a week and a half. Any info on the piano bar?

Was really good when I was on in June but the singer was finishing that week ! Nice atmosphere but if you go on a drinks package and have more than three drinks they tend to stop serving you !!!

@hoosier1971 Pat (I can't remember his last name) was in the Schooner Bar and was good. We didn't spend as much time there as we did the Dog and Badger, but he sounded good. Also, the band at Olive or Twist was good one night too.

Great! It was the "smoke lounge" on Mariner. I usually really enjoy the type of music in the pubs. So I will be checking Indy's pub out. How about Schooner bar? It was totally non-smoking on Mariner as was the entire Viking Crown area, which I don't believe I've ever seen on any other ship.

Thank you so much for taking the time to share the Compasses

with everyone.

A few activities were listed that I have never heard of. Can you share info on any of the following:

The Planning Event, Royal Promenade

Scatterglorious, Schooner Bar

Flip Video Scavenger Hunt, Schooner Bar

Thank you. I'm really looking forward to my cruise on March 24.

Schooner was also totally non-smoking. However, there was no smoke free night in the Casino. There are also some areas marked no smoking in the Casino, but strangely, the smoke did not obey the signs.

Thanks so much for this information! How early in the morning do they begin giving out tickets to the ice show.

Thank you for the compasses. Is there any way I can Print these out in bigger form. I'm not that good with computers, but can't seem to enlarge them enough. Thanks.

Double click on the image. That magnifies them as far as you can on that website.

If that doesn't work for you, you would have to save the image in another photo program and enlarge it on that. The image would possibly degrade in quality, though.
