How fast is boarding at Cape Canaveral?

Me and my crew have set sail out of Miami (uuuuuggggh) and Tampa(sweeeeeeet and smooth). How is Cape Canaveral (Orlando) in comparison? We are looking at the Dream next fall. Did I mention how awesome Channelside in Tampa is? Oh, Tampa was great if you didn't get the picture.

We sailed out of Canaveral in October, doing a B2B on the Dream. Boarding was fast and smooth. For debarkation, we were off the ship by 8am.

I'm sailing on the Dream this Saturday. When I get back, I will update you on embarkation/debarkation. We did not purchase FTTF, nor are we VIP/Diamond Guests. We will be arriving at the port between 9-10am, so we hope to be on board before 11am.

PC is a breeze. The lines move swiftly. Sailed from there 5 times and never a delay. The staff is one of the best around.

We just got off the Dream in PC and also went out of Tampa and Miami. Port Canaveral and Tampa were a piece of cake. Very easy.

Sailed in Nov. Brand new terminal and very quick. There approximately 50 or so check in stations. Signs that light up telling you who is available, plus a guest attendant telling you which station is available.

Check in is uncomplicated. The terminal was built to accomodate more passengers than currently flow thru it, they are hoping to snag one or more of the mega ships in the future.

Port Canaveral was the easiest check-in I have been through.

BTW....How was Tampa???:p

I agree that Port Caniveral is excellent,,,ALMOST as good as Tampa, but not quite. Have no fear!

Just was on the dream on 12/22. From the time we got off the shuttle to the time we were on the ship was about 20 minutes. Not a single line, it was so smooth and efficient!

I've cruised out of Miami and Port Canaveral. To me, boarding out of PC is a breeze! I've never had a long wait and the lines run quickly and smoothly!

We were on board within 20 minutes of being dropped off by our shuttle. Disembarking ran 20-30 minutes faster than what was listed/predicted on the interactive boards.

PC was fast, like I had to let people check-in in front of me while I waited for my DH to finish parking the car. The line seemed long, so I got into it, and the next thing I knew, I was at the front of the line. They called our boarding zone as he came up so we were right on.

 

Debark was super just as smooth!

 

We are not platinum. It was our first CCL cruise and it was wonderful!
