Any problems with fog in Galveston yet?

I've been delayed by fog in Galveston but not at this time of year. I haven't heard that any sailings have been affected recently.

What time of year is typical to get fog in Galveston?

Haven't noticed any yet, been watching since we sail next weekend! Typically it's Autumn and Spring for fog along the Texas coast but can happen anytime.

Just based on what I've read here, February seems to be particularly bad for fog in Galveston. And that was our experience when we sailed in 2010 - port was closed, we docked late, missed our flight home, spent the night in Houston, and arrived home a day late.

We were delayed both on embarkation and debarkation last year on our New Years cruise. We've got the most problems in January and February it seems like.

Late January through early April seems to be the worst stretch though fog is a problem here all winter. So far this winter the fog ghosts have remained at bay. Hopefully they will stay away a while longer. Our neighbors sail from Galveston on the Mariner of the Seas tomorrow.

Thanks guys, last year we didn't get off the Triumph untill almost 3 pm. We had a blast but felt bad for the people waiting to get on.
