Casual Smart Casual

Hi,

Haven't sailed RCCL for many a year and I am a bit

Confused by their dress code.

Do they still differentiate between Casual/Smart Casual.

Just looked at their FAQ and it states that a jacket is

Required on Smart Casual nights, is that right?

Also if you eat in the Speciallity Venues on Formal night

Can you get away with Smart Casual.

Your help is appreciated its just that Celebrity have

a completely different more relaxed set of rules.

Thanks

For practical purposes there is not any difference between casual and smart casual on RCI. On my most recent cruise in December there were two formal nights, one smart casual and the remainder casual. I detected no difference whatsoever between smart casual and just plain casual. I went to Chops on the second formal night without formal attire and that was the way most other patrons in Chops were dressed... non formal, one or two gents with coats and I do not remember seeing any ties. Ladies were dressed about the same, nothing real fancy.

Even though it upsets the fashion police even on the first formal night there were a fair number of guests in the MDR without coat and tie.... fairly casually dressed. RCI's dress codes are suggestions, so it is really up to you as to the level you wish to dress.

Note anyone's impression, Those observations are the truth. Please don't confuse the observations of a fellow CC wth you own opinions.

Yes those observations are correct.:)

I was't clear.

I am only saying RCL leaves interpretation to the individual passenger.

Therefore it is left to ones own interpretation.

We and you probably dress up

rather than down down. :)

I wear a tux on formal nite

And coats some other nights

But I'm not going to let it ruin my

evening if no one else doesn't

wear one also. Even if they are at our table.

Enjoy your cruise. :D
