BayouGirlUSA Posted January 9, 2013 #1 Share Posted January 9, 2013 I have taken one NCL cruise on the Spirit March 2012. After that cruise I had 14 points. Seven points for the 7 day cruise and 7 points for booking 9 months in advance. I am booked on the Jewel for November 2013. I will get the same points as stated above for this cruise; making a total of 28 points. When I get on the ship in November, will I be a Bronze Member or a Silver Member? What is Priority Check-In? time2cruise1 Posted January 9, 2013 #2 Share Posted January 9, 2013 You will be silver when you get off the ship. Points are awarded after each completed cruise. Bronze, silver, or gold you get in the same latitudes check in line.
roger001 Posted January 9, 2013 #3 Share Posted January 9, 2013 You only get the points awarded after the cruise is completed. They, and you then latitude status, will show on your "my NCL" within a couple of days after you get home usually.

I figured I would be bronze but a girl could hope...LOL! BUT, I will be silver for the POA in 2014! OK, for the priority check-in. When I went on the Spirit, my first NCL cruise, what line was I in? What is the difference between the priority check-in line and "the first time ever to sail NCL line"?

What is the difference between the priority check-in line and "the first time ever to sail NCL line"? Actually.....very little. In fact, the latitude line is sometimes longer than the first time cruisers line. How fast you process in seems to be based on what time you get there. We get there usually by 10:30 or so and zip right through. Additionally, there will usually be a facilitator directing you to check in lines. Regardless of your status, if there is a shorter line, they will frequently just send you to that one. Last time we were sent to the Casino players line because it was the next available. So...latitude check in may not be any real advantage.

Two of the 3 couples will be bronze and the other couple will be new on our November sailing. More than likely we will be in that 10:30 range and remembering how easy our check-in was in March, I will likely stick with our newbie couple so they feel they are getting the "experienced cruisers" attention....HA! I even laughed when I typed it!
Love my butler Posted January 9, 2013 #8 Share Posted January 9, 2013 Priority check-in due to lattitudes membership is virtually no benefit at all. Certainly nothing to dread or look forward to. It's check-in, not boarding.
Rare kjquilts Posted January 9, 2013 #9 Share Posted January 9, 2013 You've already gotten your answer but here is the link to the latitude point count needed for the different levels. http://www.ncl.com/latitudes-rewards/rewards-points-and-benefits Have a great cruise !
