EileenN Posted January 10, 2013 #3 Share Posted January 10, 2013 We tend to wait and let all the rushing crowd off and away...then we get off and do our thing at a gentle speed. We have often met people coming back on board as we are leaving. It is a vacation not a rush and it will probably not be the last. Whatever we miss on this visit we will get on the next. I feel there is to much hurry to see everything at each stop and so little is appreciated.
cruis247g Posted January 10, 2013 #4 Share Posted January 10, 2013 We've been known to stay on the ship and enjoy all the uncrowded venues:D!
shelly11 Posted January 10, 2013 #5 Share Posted January 10, 2013 It'll be fine. If you book an excursion they can only take a set amount so no crowding. If you want to explore on your own wait a bit before you get off the ship. It would also be a great time to enjoy the ship.
unboringuy Posted January 10, 2013 #6 Share Posted January 10, 2013 On my last cruise on the Epic, I was alone in the fitness center while the ship was in port. It was wonderful!!!
DMH15 Posted January 10, 2013 #7 Share Posted January 10, 2013 We've been known to stay on the ship and enjoy all the uncrowded venues:D! Agree. I go to the spa for their specials. Enjoy lunch at Cagney's. Walk the ship and even get a lounger at the pool. It is nice.

Ilovesailing Posted January 11, 2013 #9 Share Posted January 11, 2013 If you have done this port before then say on the ship. This port has nothing to offer. JMO

Love my butler Posted January 11, 2013 #11 Share Posted January 11, 2013 Try walking around Skagway during a summer cruise. Tiny town when 10,000+ people suddenly appear. It's a zoo.

jackparts Posted January 11, 2013 #16 Share Posted January 11, 2013 I always check how many ships in the port. Too many, I schedule excursions with the ship. Saves being a pier runner and also battling elbows.
