Hot tubs, pools, opening hours?

Hi all,

I've been told by Princess reservations that at least one swimming pool and at least one hot tub is available/open 24 hours. However my own personal experience on Golden was that all pools and all hot tubs were netted over and closed around 9pm until about 7am the next morning.

For night owls, or early risers, are there any pools or hot tubs open late or 24 hours? Specifically, this is for the Crown Princess although I suspect the policy would be fleetwide?

Anyone know the hours of operation if none are open 24 hours?

Thanks!

Fleetwide--not necessarily. When I was on the Coral Princess and Star Princess I saw people using the indoor pool and hottubs late into the evening. But Crown Princess has no indoor pool area--and I have never seen an outdoor swimming pool on Princess open after sundown. Hot tubs, yes on occasion; it sems to depend on the weather and the cleaning schedules. On the Crown Princess the MUTS screen faces the Calypso Pool so I would assume both pool and spas in that area roped off at dusk. Again, from what I have seen on the two above and other Princess ships there is no concrete policy or way of predicting what time the hottubs at Neptune's Reef and Pool are shut down.

Thanks for the replies so far - even though they are conflicting

Hopefully they do keep pools (or at least one pool and hot tub area) open after sunset. That can be as early as shortly after 6pm in the Caribbean.

I have swam on the Diamond both before 7am and after 9pm but this may be the exception to the rule. :D

I really wouldn't go by what the CSRs at Princess said. Remember, many of them have never been on a Princess ship.

Pretty to ask those who have been on a specific ship if they have used the pools at those times. But also bear in mind, these hours could change for your cruise.

This has alway been a hot topic for my wife and I of which we've posted or responded many times.

Back when we started cruising with Princess at least 1 hot tub did remain open all the time. In fact we enjoyed them many times after leaving Skywalkers at 2 - 3 AM.

One evening during a Mexican Riviera cruise on the Diamond we had quite a crowd including the visiting comic and it was well past 2 AM.

Lately however this generally isn't the case, with all of them being closed usually by 10 or 11 PM.

Not sure way this changed and the closing times due somewhat vary by ship, but we haven't seen any open past midnight in quite some time.

Perhaps there were some bad incidents that occurred, or maybe they would rather have passengers gambling in the casino generating revenue.
