Cairnmom Posted January 20, 2013 #1 Share Posted January 20, 2013 Would appreciate any advice regarding whale watching excursions in Maui. We will be there the end of February. Any thoughts or experiences?
CruiserBruce Posted January 20, 2013 #2 Share Posted January 20, 2013 If you read down the board, you will see MANY threads about whalewatching on Maui. The key is where you are coming ashore, as that determines where you can readily get out to see the whales. Coming ashore at Kahului, you will go Ma'aleaa. Coming ashore at Lahaina is easy, and the best whale watching.

Susan-M Posted January 21, 2013 #5 Share Posted January 21, 2013 The search function has been a bit 'wonky' lately ... here's a list of threads that come up using the word "Whales" (when I tried searching with "whale watching Maui" it went into error mode). PCWalton1 Posted January 22, 2013 #6 Share Posted January 22, 2013 We used Captain Steve for our excursion. Had a fast boat so we were able to get around to multiple sightings. Got some great pics.
CruiserBruce Posted January 22, 2013 #7 Share Posted January 22, 2013 We used Captain Steve for our excursion. Had a fast boat so we were able to get around to multiple sightings. Got some great pics. We just had two rides with Captain Steve last week. Breach city. As always- we have gone with Steve 6-8 times in the last 5 years- he is right on it. However, the OP has not indicated where they are coming ashore. If the OP isn't coming ashore in Lahaina, Captain Steve isn't really practical.
