BAnders Posted March 16, 2014 #1551 Share Posted March 16, 2014 Looking at all the information on the city pass since we will be in Copenhagen for 3 full days it would probably make sense for us to purchase them, however, it looks like you can only get them at the airport, main station or tourist center at Tivoli Gardens. Is there anywhere else to purchase them? We are staying in an apartment at Sonder Boulevard 42, Copenhagen, Capital Region of Denmark 1720. Wherever that is. Thanks for any help you can give me. The woman we are renting from told us the easiest way to this address from the port is taxi, even tho more expensive but less confusing. Thank you for any help you can offer Barbara:confused:
Danish viking Posted March 16, 2014 Author #1552 Share Posted March 16, 2014 (edited) Yes, the biergarden is now open from outside Tivoli without entrance. Is the flight 07:05 with Air Berlin, because 1 hour before should be enough. The trip with car takes around 15 minutes so 05:30 would be the latest departure time from your apartment, then you also have some time to spare. If you are talking about the city pass you can buy it from all stations. Is it however the Copenhagen Card you are talking about you have to visit the central station. https://www.google.dk/maps/dir/S%C3%B8nder+Boulevard+42,+1720+K%C3%B8benhavn/K%C3%B8benhavns+Politi.+N%C3%A6rpoliti+Hovedbaneg%C3%A5rden,+Baneg%C3%A5rdspladsen,+1,+1651+K%C3%B8benhavn/@55.6689442,12.5515977,15z/data=!3m2!4b1!5s0x4652530d3d771e55:0x6e3ce34b77d3738c!4m13!4m12!1m5!1m1!1s0x4652537425d14ee7:0x76557b19330cc907!2m2!1d12.5536544!2d55.6672674!1m5!1m1!1s0x4652530d23c12bdf:0x1405420838c46493!2m2!1d12.564015!2d55.672292 Here are 2 of the major taxi companies. http://www.amagerobrotaxi.dk/ http://www.dantaxi.dk/Koebenhavn Edited March 16, 2014 by Danish viking

Great, :) As I said though it's very difficult with public transport but If you rent a car in Malmö, it is an easy drive to Kåseberga and on your way back to Malmö you could make a short stop at Smygehuk which is the southern most point in Sweden. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Smygehuk Driving directions: https://www.google.se/maps/dir/Malm%C3%B6+Centralstation,+211+20+Malm%C3%B6/K%C3%A5seberga+Hamnkiosk,+Hamnen,+K%C3%A5seberga,+276+40+Ystad/Smygehuk,+231+78+Smygehamn/Malm%C3%B6+Centralstation/@55.5175085,13.6466238,11z/data=!4m26!4m25!1m5!1m1!1s0x4653a3fbe1702bb9:0x932df1e2725d9dd2!2m2!1d13.000913!2d55.609458!1m5!1m1!1s0x46548a9842f508a9:0x1d03a5ec3f5f1254!2m2!1d14.06278!2d55.38372!1m5!1m1!1s0x46537b0a97723d37:0xf4342be80f4ccbc1!2m2!1d13.359632!2d55.337151!1m5!1m1!1s0x4653a3fbe1702bb9:0x932df1e2725d9dd2!2m2!1d13.000913!2d55.609458!3e0

You are truly a wealth of information. Barbara There aren't really anything in Malmö that is completely "unmissable" or so. But you could always take a look yourself at http://www.malmotown.com/en/do/ http://www.visitsweden.com/sweden/regions--cities/malmo/ http://www.malmocity.se/index.php/engelsk/ http://www.malmo.se/Medborgare/Kultur--noje/Museer--utstallningar/Malmo-Museer/Sprak/In-English/Visit.html Malmö is a bit outside my area of knowledge/experience. My day trip is going to be: Malmo - Ystad - Kaseberga - Lund (if time) that other place you mentioned sounds wonderful but pretty sure I won't rent a car and it doesn't seem to be on public transit. thanks a bunch again for telling me about that. it's pretty obscure and COOL. phxbne Posted March 21, 2014 #1570 Share Posted March 21, 2014 Thanks for all of the amazing info! I have some questions I could not find answers to: - how long would it take to walk from Langelinie C190 to the Little Mermaid? I am wondering if we can do that on our on-board day rather than pre-cruise - what is the best/easiest way to get to Roskilde? Do you know if you can book the boat ride at the Museum in advance? - I have read there is a canal boat stop at/near the Marriott - which boats and where do they head to? - we will be in Copenhagen on a Monday and Tuesday - what is closed on those days? Apologies if the answers are already somewhere on the board! Michele

Use http://www.rejseplanen.dk/ to find connections from Copenhagen Central Station to Roskilde St. About the boat trip at Roskilde you can read for youself at the link below but it seems that there is no pre-booking available other then for groups. http://www.vikingeskibsmuseet.dk/en/visit-the-museum/what-is-on/boat-trips/boat-trips-without-booking/#c6200 I think the Canal Tours you refer to is the Strömma Canal tours which starts at Gammel Strand. http://www.stromma.dk/en/copenhagen/canal-tours/ https://www.google.se/maps/dir/Copenhagen+Marriott+Hotel,+Kalvebod+Brygge+5,+1560+K%C3%B8benhavn,+Danmark/Canal+Tours+Copenhagen,+Gammel+Strand+32,+1200+K%C3%B8benhavn,+Danmark/@55.6674427,12.5749332,14z/data=!4m14!4m13!1m5!1m1!1s0x4652536c9fb4c9f1:0xdc499d72e12f74b8!2m2!1d12.573781!2d55.669129!1m5!1m1!1s0x46525316d1ec9d55:0x423bac16ad13fbcf!2m2!1d12.578962!2d55.677804!3e2?hl=sv I don't about much about the last question except that Tivoli is open every day. Danish viking Posted March 21, 2014 Author #1572 Share Posted March 21, 2014 As noted, the Little Mermaid is max 5 minutes away, if your ship is docked at the tip of Langelinie Pier. The viking ship museum is open on Mondays so maybe its best to go on that day. Its possible to walk to the museum in 20 minutes time from Roskilde station but bus 203 to Veddelev will get you to the door and is included in the train ticket. The bus departures at XX:27 and XX:57 from Roskilde Station. Places closed on mondays: The national museum Open Air Mueum Rosenborg and Amalienborg is open during the summer months but else closed If you are interested in other tourist sites I can look it up. Can you give me an idea where the Eurodam will be docked on these dates please?. Second question: We will be staying at the Hotel Bethel pre cruise for 2 days so we can see your beautiful city. I know we are on the canal so the canal boats are close literally. :) but are we close enough to walk to Tivoli, Rundetaarn (the Round Tower), Stroget, and the Little Mermaid. Any other ideas that close by? We love history and "old stuff". thanks!!:D
