? about Hawaii

Recommended Posts

Hawaii is overcast almost every day for part of the day. Hawaii is sunny almost every day for part of the day. Unless you have a goodly amount of time to spend at a photo subject, it's a crap-shoot.

Same day, same island, over a period of about eight hours.

Luck of the draw.

I

All the photos I see of hawaii look like it's overcast.

We are affected by weather conditions all over the Pacific Ocean. We are also affected by Mauna Kea's lava flow and gas which results in what we call "vog". If the trade winds are normal, the vog is blown (more or less) away from the Island chain.

We have fairly clear weather most of the time. But we do have overcast days and cold days (right now it is about 69 degrees at 10:00am) We have rainy days (both light and heavy).

In short, it can be as varied as any other state but without snow!
