We were on the 2/26 sailing and were alongside around 245. Passengers on Princess excursions disembarked first, then the remaining were called by ticket number. At around 330, general disembarkation was called and we walked off without a ticket. We were to be back on board by 930 as you can see in the attached photo.

I think we're doing a similar tour that's scheduled to run from 3-6. Are the shops near the ship open late enough for a bit of browsing after the tour? Don't really want to buy a lot of stuff, just to be able to walk around a little before dinner.

We were there two weeks ago. We were off the ship by about 2 p.m. (I think) and did a tour with one of the companies at the cruise port. They took us for a drive through the historic area, saw the floating market, went to a liqueur factory and went out to the Hato Caves. It was a good trip for $25 each and we ended up back at the ship at about 5 p.m. Dumped our bags, had a snack and headed back out.... to find that most of the stores were shutting their doors as it was 6 p.m. Which was disappointing. Even the area with the historic buildings was a ghost town except for a couple of restaurants (bars) along the water. We walked along some of the back streets, but they were a little scary for three women alone.

After going through the RIF Fort, there was a market with local vendors set up along the water, and they were open a bit later (until about 7). And we found a great glass jewellery/purse store in the fort that was open until 8 or 8:30. Other than that, everything was shut up tight. Just a restaurant or two open in the fort.
