6 Day Exotic Eastern Caribbean Aboard the Carnival Breeze 1/13/2013

My sister and her friend had reservations at the steakhouse and so we decided to eat there, too. Everyone ordered a steak but I had the surf and turf. I wish I had only ordered steak. The lobster was not very good. I probably should have sent it back, but I wasn't that hungry after eating the filet so I didn't bother. I was surprised to see that the wine given with the meal didn't even have a cork but was a twist off cap.

 

For some reason I only took a picture of the NY Strip.

Thank you. Lots of shopping, eating, drinking and entertainment at Bayside. I loved being able to see the whale tails in port on Saturday.

We dropped off our bags and headed to Bayside to meet some friends who live in Miami. We were very hungry so we ate a little Cuban restaurant and enjoyed the view.

We ended up in the casino area since there isn't a sports bar on this ship. We found a table and shortly after we ran into an old friend. I asked him who he was sailing with and he told me to wait and he would get her. To my surprise he brought my sister to the table. I was in shock. :):D

Karen - the restaurant was called the Latin American Cafe. My DH wanted to try some Cuban food. I do not know much about Cuban food but what I had was very good. We got plates of food, so I don't know about the sandwiches.

It was a surprise. She knew when we were sailing because we were visiting her after the cruise. She talked to her friend and he said I am on that sailing, so 2 weeks before he put her in his cabin. I guess it was a surprise and a coincidence.

Great job with the review! Also, I sailed on the Paradise last summer to Cozumel! Very similar to my Sensation cruise but it was great! Cozumel...super duper hot! Not sure about in April since we sailed in August! I hope you have a great trip on her and I'll sit back and enjoy the "Breeze" --review that is! ;)

Thank you! I am joining a group on the Paradise..it will be quite different than the Breeze...looking forward to the ports. Do you have any suggestions for excursions?

We woke up around 8 and decided to try the Punchliner Brunch since it started at 8:30. I think we arrived a little after 9. We got a table for 2 and we were presented with a whole basket of pastries. I ordered an omelet and so did DH. They were both very good. John Wesley Austin was the comedian. He was very funny in his short show. We decided we wanted to see him later that evening.

 

After breakfast we found my sister by the main pool and stayed there most of the day. I got my first Guy burger and fries. It lived up to its good reputation. We also watched the Red's Rum vs Blue's Tequila Challenge.

One of our roll call members had contacted John Heald and arranged for a meet and greet at the RedFrog Pub at 2. Thank you Elaine! After the contest we headed to the Pub. We had a very large roll call. I was very excited to meet John. I love reading his blog:) My DH took a picture of us.

After the meet and greet we decided to check out the Thalassotherapy pool. We had access since we had spa cabin 11240. I loved the way the water felt, but I found the seating to be very uncomfortable and the whole area, not the water, was too hot. We decided to check out the hot tub in the Serenity area. The hot tub was a mess. There were floating beer bottles all around the edge. The wind had picked up and the water was blowing in your face. We left the area and went to get ready for dinner.
