Major Storm in N.E.

Shipbound

Recommended Posts

Orono Maine checking in - Good to see Bangor neighbors on board. Plows just came by our street so I'll go clean that out of the way soon. I wish it would stop snowing and if the wind were to stop no problem with me. Clearing the driveway earlier was fun with the wind blowing every direction, but mostly into my face. To think yesterday I had flowers breaking through and now they are under two feet of snow:(

Reunion thread here. I'm an OHS grad, lived my school years on Forest Ave at Pushaw Pond

I live in MA. We got about 2 feet. However, due to winds and snow plows there are some areas in our apartment complex that are 4 feet deep. Our cars are still stuck since we are still waiting for the maintenance man to plow the parking lot. I hope he does it tomorrow. There's too much to shovel. My husband shoveled the snow around my car, but there's still 10 feet of snow behind my car that I'm waiting for the plow to remove.

Snow has blocked my back door, yep right up to the window! But parts of the driveway are clear because of the wind. I have 4 foot drifts around the house and nothing on the cars! Watching the snow blow horizontally. Oh to be cruising right now!

Of course it is a bonus day off for me. The casino is not even going to try and open until after 5pm. Just when my shift would be ending. Irish coffee, warm fire, CC to read.....NOPE, I STILL WANT A CRUISE!

I can relate to what's going on there. In January of 1971 we were moving to Arizona. The morning we left there was 32" of snow on the ground and 29 degrees below zero:eek: True story. Unforgettable.

hey I'm in Manchester also!!! I too have not had my street plowed :( Spending too much money shopping online

My husband is from Manchester. His parents and sister and her family still live there. His parents said they got 3 ft and the snow drift was over the back railing of their deck.....still had power though.

Stay warm you guys and if you get sick of the snow like we did, I highly recommend FL. ;)

Sun is out, sky is blue, no wind, and 3-4 feet drifts around my house! We had to go out the front door and around the back to dig out our back door. The barn door had a drift almost to its top and it took awhile to get the snow blower out. Hubby is out now trying to get rid of the monster drift blocking the driveway. AHHH, to be on a ship and just let the sun do its job. Much warmer weather heading our way. Supposed to hit the 30s this week.

We got 51 cm not sure about inches or feet..winds of 80+kms gusting to 160( don't know MPH).. One of the radio stations said if it had been warm it would have been a hurricane.. Snow drift are up to the roofs at some of our neighbors.

It really brings the neighborly love when we all get out there and plow each other out and help those that need a helping hand.. by tomorrow winds will die down, and we are expecting above freezing temps for a few days...

Hope everyone came thru it ok..
