Taking alcohol aboard

Hi , we are booked on the Carnival legend for a Mediterranean cruise in May. If we buy duty free alcohol at the airport (Gatwick) before departure will be able to take it onboard? If not , will we get it back at the end of the cruise? I believe we are able to take a bottle of wine or champagne (each) onboard, can someone confirm this for me please. Thanks:confused:

Yes you can take 1 750ml bottle of wine or champagne per adult. Liquor will be taken and given back at the end of the cruise, if they catch it. They don't always catch it, so it's up to you whether you want to do it or not.
