Which Houston Airport?

We will be sailing out of Houston on the NCL Jewel. I noticed that there are 2 airports for Houston. Which airport would be preferable? Never been to Houston before so any info would be greatly appreciated.

Hobby is closer but it may depend on which airline you are choosing. For example, Southwest flies out of Hobby

George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) is about 70 miles to the port.

Wow...I did not realize that they are so far away from the port. Do you happen to know if any hotels offer transportation to the port? Kind of like a cruise n fly package? We would be flying in the day before our cruise departs and it would help greatly and probably be cheaper if there was a hotel that has that type of service. Thank you for the airport information. It's good to know!

The distances posted above your last post were for Galveston, not Houston. I think everyone on this forum is so used to people asking distance to Galveston. May take some time to get used to people cruising out of Houston :D

 

Hobby Airport (HOU) is 22 miles from the Houston terminal and IAH is about 48 miles.
