The definitive Cheers program Thread

I have a question about cheers. I did do a search, but could not find the answer.

I know that the drinks are limited to 15 per 24 hr period. So, on departure day, if I board the ship at 1pm, and I hit 15 drinks by 1pm the next day (24 hrs). Am I then cut off for the rest of that first sea day?, or do they just start counting the drinks from 1pm that day to the next. I just wondering if I should limit my drinks on boarding day, so not to get cut off early on the first sea day. Hope this makes sense:o

thanks

Your count goes until 6 AM and then 6-6 until the end of the cruise.

The most updated rules say drinks up to $50 are covered, but it says doubles count as 2 drinks... We are Cajuns and like our double drinks and I think it is ridiculous since that would still be way below half the amount covered per drink... I think if the double falls below $50 it should count, it only makes sense based on their limit per drink... Anyone cruised lately and have insight on this? Last time I cruised it was drinks up to $10 so that made sense but with the newer limits some doubles should count...

Thanks in advance for any info...

I assume the 15 is to limit overall consumption although you can buy drinks to not count against your 15.

To think you could do a triple or a quad of grey goose @ $9.95 each. A quad pour would be under $50.

What time do the bars open and close? Does it vary by which bar and ship?

Depends on the bars, almost all are closed by 4, with the casino bar being the last one to close up. Most bars seem to have a closes at XX time or when the last person leaves kind of mentality.

Do the beers on the Conquest usually come in bottles or cans?

If bottles, was thinking of getting some of these:

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/like/131510331382?lpid=107&chn=ps

So if I cant finish off my 15 drinks I will get the remaining ones and take then back to the room for the next day! :-)

Those will not really do much. The beer when opened will release Co2 and build up pressure and pop those off. You need the ones that expand inside the neck of a bottle to keep the pressure inside to inhibit the release.

Also, exposure to oxygen can cause beer to rapidly develop off-flavors. If you want to try re-sealing a beer, try to fill the headspace (the area between the top of the beer and the bottom of the seal) with foam by swirling it just a little bit and then apply the seal. That will fill the headspace with good CO2 from the foam instead of bad oxygen. Then keep it as cold as possible until you're ready to drink it. That will slow down the losd of carbonation. Unfortunately, the loss of some carbonation is unavoidable once the original seal is broken. /Signed, a homebrewer

Thanks for the bottle sealing tips!

Will come in handy when you have a couple of sea days coming up and you cant get most of your quota from the port days.

BTW I am one of those that isnt too fussy, and will find an opened bottle in my fridge 2 days later & still drink it! :-)

A double counts as two drinks, and because there is a 5min rule between drinks, you would have to order a drink, wait 5 min before ordering a shot to pour into that drink. Your best bet is to order drinks from the menu that have more then a shot of alcohol in them. Quite a few at the alchemy bar have more alcohol.

Nope I think most of us have been there. 😞

Perfectly fine as long you don't mind paying for it. I'm pretty sure that is allowed though I don't know when your S&S account gets closed out. I assume they will sell you anything until you "ding" off the ship.

Ok, so its 15 drinks with unlimited cokes and water correct? What about the monsters and specialty coffees? Do those count towards your 15 drinks?

Also, the time is from 6am to 6pm, correct?

I was reading where you will get cut off after 15 drinks. But, say you had 10 drinks after 6pm the night before and then 5 drinks the next day before 6pm. After 6pm the program starts over. So you could have 15 drinks that night correct? If so that is over 15 drinks in a day.

No they don't count toward the 15....

And it's 6am to 6am. Nice try though 🙃

That was going to be my question .....also

Can you get frozen cocktails...ie. Strawberry daquarri. ...pina col

Can you get processco ?

Is the 15% tip included...or do you pay as you go along. ..or pay at the end ?

Thanks in advance

So if the cocktail dudes make up a drink with 3 shots in it, there goes 3 of your quota?

If the drink is on the menu it is only 1 of your quota. Asking for extra shots will make it 2 or 3. but I don't think you can even order those at the same time.

Ex: the Tiramisu Martini has 7 different liqueurs in it and it is one drink. I know it well. :p

Frozen cocktails are included.

They have champagne by the glass and it is included. Bottles will be 25% off.

The 15% gratuity is added to the cost of Cheers when you purchase it. There is not any additional gratuity automatically added. You are free to tip extra if you want. Either on the receipt you will sign or in cash.

Not to far back what is included and not include has been posted. I personally have seen the list posted over 5 times. It also is real easy to Google Carnival Cheers and get a list of everything that is included and the cost of the program per day if you pre-order it or wait to order on the ship.
