Best Port to Scuba Dive

IMO best dive sites are:

 

St John ( if you stop at St Thomas you can arrange a dive there)

Cozumel ( drift dive, fantastic reefs)

Bonaire ( the whole island is set up for divers)

Honduras

I put Cozumel first because it was an amazing drift dive and I saw the best combination of flora and fauna. The others are all equally good but for very different reasons.

 

(I realize that is 5, not three and Belize and Roatan are technically not Caribbean, but they are wonderful and I feel like being a bit of a rebel today)

Grand Cayman - skip the boats and shore dive Sunset House or Eden Rock

 

Bonaire - but maybe not for a cruise stop - great shore diving, no need to pay for a boat

 

Roatan - CocoView Resort - but they will not take day visitors so . . .

 

Cozumel - LOT'S of vendors trolling the immediate pier area, you don't need a reservation

 

other islands I'd recommend 'mainstream' cruises are not going to visit as they are too small of locations . . . . like Saba ....
