Rare Oviedo32765 Posted February 21, 2013 #2 Share Posted February 21, 2013 A new body to consider... framer I wondered why there was a big sale on the D7000. I just ordered a D7000 yesterday for $300 less than the new D7100 will sell for. I called a local camera shop and they were out of stock of the D7000, so I went online and ordered from B&H. Thought about modifying my order this morning but couldn't justify the $300 price difference. Plus the D7100 won't be available for a few more weeks at least and I will get my D7000 on Tuesday. knittinggirl Posted February 22, 2013 #3 Share Posted February 22, 2013 I think the d7000 held its value well. I've noticed a pretty large price drop with my d5100 since I purchased it a few years ago.
chipmaster Posted February 22, 2013 #4 Share Posted February 22, 2013 That is a crazy number of pixels, the irony of it all is you bolt many of the consumer zoom lenses to this body and stop down you are in diffraction land so the extra pixels really gain you nothing. If one is a DX shooter with great technique and using some of the latest 1.4 or 1.8 primes and blowing to huge sizes or cropping a ton for wildlife with say a 400 or 600 prime with teleconvert this is an intersting combo when you mate the new f8 focus. Nikon is hell bent on selling pixels on the low end and everyone is wondering where is the high end D400 and DX lenses upgrades.
