2Xayear Posted February 22, 2013 #1 Share Posted February 22, 2013 No self serve laundry aboard the Nieuw Amsterdam right?
Krazy Kruizers Posted February 22, 2013 #2 Share Posted February 22, 2013 Correct -- there are no self laundry rooms on any of the Vista or Signature class ships. You have a choice of sending out clothes by the bag, unlimited laundry or piece by piece (this is very expensive). The laundry by the bag is about $20 for as much as you can stuff into a bag about 12 by 15 inches. Some people claim that they can get a lot of stuff in the bag by rolling everything very tightly. Unlimited laundry -- price depends on the length of the cruise. You need to call Ship Services at 1-800-541-1576 to get a price for the length of your cruise. lizzies_mom Posted February 22, 2013 #3 Share Posted February 22, 2013 Ever since we purchased unlimited laundry for a PC cruise on the Oosterdam, DH thinks it is the best thing since sliced bread. The last time we sailed, I think the cost came to about $7/day.

Typhoon1 Posted February 23, 2013 #7 Share Posted February 23, 2013 Where does one read up or purchase the unlimited laundry? There is an info sheet hanging with the laundry bag in the closet. It outlines the various laundry packages available. They can be purchased at the Front Desk.
highland cruiser Posted February 23, 2013 #8 Share Posted February 23, 2013 We were on the Nieuw Amsterdam for 14 days in January and used the "all you can stuff in the bag" option. It worked very well for us. We had the laundry back within 24 hours...all folded or on hangers. And with our 3 star Mariner discount it was very reasonable. Worth the effort to do this instead of over packing!!
jaspersmycat Posted February 23, 2013 #9 Share Posted February 23, 2013 What is the 3-star discount? I thought the only laundry reward came at 4-stars.

bigjohn42 Posted February 24, 2013 #11 Share Posted February 24, 2013 2xayear, we are on the 14 day back to back on NA 3-24-2013 sailing and I just called ship services this past week and ordered Unlimited Laundry for the duration and the cost was 98.00 This way we can send out laundry everyday and you normally get it back within a day. Fewer clothes to have to pack :), Hope this helps, John Where does one read up or purchase the unlimited laundry?
Rare Crew News Posted February 24, 2013 #12 Share Posted February 24, 2013 Perhaps it was the special attention by our room stewards but any laundry that I gave them before we went to dinner (NA Nov 2012 Western Caribbean), was returned to the room before 10:00 AM. That is a bit over 12 hours service. Of course that is the only cruise that the normal 24 hour return was provided.
