camarodrivenrs Posted February 28, 2013 #1 Share Posted February 28, 2013 For those who know the area or have done it before. If I get off my Celebrity cruise at the port of Miami on 1/4/13 would you be worried about making it to Port Everglades for the Ruby Princess 1/4/13 sailing, if transportation was pre-arranged? susie8862 Posted February 28, 2013 #2 Share Posted February 28, 2013 This is very do-able. The cab/shuttle ride is only about 45 minutes. Even if you did not get off of your 1st ship until 10am.....you would still be in Port Everglades by 11am... I do not foresee any problem with this other than getting stuck in a traffic jam, which most taxi drivers already know about and work around it. :o
JohninDC Posted February 28, 2013 #3 Share Posted February 28, 2013 Should not be an issue - enjoy your cruises! :)

Rare Keith1010 Posted February 28, 2013 #5 Share Posted February 28, 2013 People do this often. It would not be a problem. I would pre arrange transportation but more for the convenience and to avoid a taxi. Keith
NICruisers Posted February 28, 2013 #6 Share Posted February 28, 2013 It's about a 50 minute ride, if you pre-book your transfer, they'll be waiting for you at the disembark action area in Miami. If cost isn't a big issue, there are quite a few good luxury limousine transfer companies who will ensure you don't have to stress about luggage etc, so you can just relax and sip some perfectly chilled champagne as the miles roll by. Thanks for the answers...this is the plan i was thinking of. The girlfriend thinks we will be heading to Fort Lauderdale's airport but instead we'll be stopping at the port. Should be a good surprise.
