Tervis Tumbler question

We were on the Valor March 31-April 7th. Our platinum gift was not a tumbler. It was a backpack. I was very disappointed. I wanted the tumbler.

Can you post a pic of the backpack?

If you still want the tumbler, I see them on eBay quite often. I know it's not the same, but just wanted to let you know in case you still wanted it.

What size are they? 16oz?

I do think they are 16 oz. They are not real big. I'd guess 12 or 16 ounces. I make a cup of coffee in my Keurig and then pour it in the tumbler. I have about two inches of room left after I pour my coffee in there.

In Dec. on the Breeze got our tumbler on the second night. Was on a b2b and the second week they did not give us a Platinum gift. Went to guest services and the night before we left the ship there was a glass with a straw stating the inauguration date. Looked like they had ran out of tumblers and ran to the gift shop because it still had a sticker on it from the gift shop.

LOL "A" for effort anyway.

Same for our 15-day Hawaii cruise on the Splendor in January, but I talked our room steward (along with the loyalty ambassador if I remember correctly) into finding us 2 tumblers to exchange for our tote bags. He ended up getting the Tervis Tumblers for us and told us to keep the tote bags too. I've always found that it never hurts to ask for something. If the answer had been "no", I'd have been OK with that too. :)

I'm with you. I live by "asking is free". The answer may be no, but then again it just may be yes (& often is). :)

Okay, not to sound ungrateful because after all, it is a free gift. However, I just don't get the big attraction to these cups that don't even have a handle. The travel mug I have seems a lot better than these & I've been taking it on all vacations & trips for many years. And it was only $10 at the time.

I suppose it's better than a picture frame I'll never use, but I can see this ending up in the far recesses of my kitchen cabinets never to be seen again. What am I missing?

I guess I may have just been lucky, but the platinum gifts I've gotten in the past were in my room on arrival & have all been good things that I use a lot in my daily life. :)

That's what I was afraid of also with the cup, but I do use mine everyday - drinking my coffee on the way to work. I like my cup without a handle (fits perfectly in my cupholder), but if someone wanted a handle, it can be purchased at Bed, Bath and Beyond.

I will be on a 15 day cruise on the Miracle in Oct. What kind of live music did they have on your cruise? Is there any salsa?

On the Splendor in January there was a wonderful singer who was actually Hawaiian - I wish I could remember his name(!) - who entertained up on Lido during the day and often on the bar "stage" in the Purser's Lobby (by the glass elevators) on many evenings. Truly enjoyable and really enhanced the "Hawaiian" mood of the cruise.

The only other "memorable" entertainment was the Karaoke on the stage on the Promenade outside of the casino. I remember thinking "PLEASE tell me this is karaoke and NOT someone we're paying to listen to!" It was that bad. Reminded me again why I DO NOT sing karaoke - I am even worse! :o

As far as Salsa is concerned, I don't know. I'm immune to salsa after a lot of caribbean cruises, so I don't really tend to hear it. Sorry!
