sickofsnowinmich Posted March 20, 2013 #1 Share Posted March 20, 2013 We are headed on a cruise via Carnival for spring break. We are going to be in Nassau (8a- 5 p) and Grand Turk (11 a - 5 p). Would like to do a sail and snorkel excursion - 2 adults 2 teen girls. Unfortunately, the time frame in Grand Turk is not ideal... Any suggestions for either port? We have looked in to Island Marketing in Nassau and it looks fine, but wondered if others have had experiences with other companies? Any suggestions welcome. OCruisers Posted March 20, 2013 #2 Share Posted March 20, 2013 When is your cruise? At this point no cruise ships are going to Grand Turk because of a noro-type problem they think has been traced back to there. Go ahead and plan your snorkel/sail for Nassau. The water in Nassau is lovely. :) Have a FUN cruise! LuLu ~~~~
Rare scubacruiserx2 Posted March 20, 2013 #3 Share Posted March 20, 2013 We really liked diving with Blue Water Divers in Grand Turk. The blue horizon is where the wall drops 8000'.

OCruisers: How do I confirm that ships are not going to Grand Turk. We sail on Carnival on April 1.
mfeld Posted March 28, 2013 #5 Share Posted March 28, 2013 I've snorkeled quite a bit off the Florida Keys, Bahamas and Caribbean. I have not been to Grand Turk, but I have been snorkeling off of Nassau/New Providence. The Nassau area some great snorkeling sites that you can access by boat, but my favorite by far is snorkeling with Stuart's Cove off the Southwest end of the Island (New Providence), where there are less tourists to mess up the coral. Stuart's Cove takes you to 3 sites, the first site is Goulding Cay which is located behind a tiny island...wonderful coral...clear water...perfect depths with nice range of shallow to deep...lots of fish. The second site they take you is an area with crashed plane...decent spot...nice healthy coral...not as many fish...somewhat deep, but not too deep. The last spot is optional...which is snorkeling with Caribbean Reef sharks...it was an incredible experience...most people opted out of that part though, but I'm glad I mustered up the courage to do it because it was one of those unforgettable life moments. You won't be disappointed...a great time for the entire family. http://www.stuartcove.com
