Underwatr Posted January 27, 2014 #539 Share Posted January 27, 2014
None! There is one 28 day rt from New York In May 2014 : it goes to Hamburg & Southampton twice and around Norway
I've actually built a spreadsheet showing the turnaround times between successive TAs in 2014 to analyze this. Starting from New York the minimum time between the eastbound and the westbound is four days, in June, August/September and September/October, for a total journey time of 18 or 19 days since some of them involve 8-day TAs. The longest journey involving successive TAs is in November/December, when two seven-day TAs sandwich a four-day Autumn Escape to Le Havre and Zeebrugge, a 12-day Iberia and Canary islands cruise and a three-day Christmas markets cruise to Zeebrugge, for a total journey time of 33 days. The "sweet spot" for time between TAs for me would be seven or eight days, and QM2 does this twice in 2014, once in July and once in October-November for a 22-day journey each time. I'd get off the ship and tour England or go to Paris for the 8-day turnaround period. Unfortunately the budget this year won't support it unless TAs go on fire sale. :)
