Depends on what sort of things you like to do and see but if it were me there'd be no question, your second choice has much more interesting ports in my opinion.

My vote would be for the 11 night on the Sun. Just completed this cruise last month. It was absolutely fabulous. Have to say it is in the Top 2 or 3 of all my cruises!

Which hotel in Cancun? I have been to Cancun MANY MANY times, so i know it well.

We are actually going on the Epic this April, followed by a week in Playa del Carmen at the Royal Haciendas. For us, it is the best of both worlds, cruise and a week at a nice resort on an awesome beach!

I adore the riviera maya area, spent many a vacation there... And there is so much to do! But the other cruise ports are more interesting to me.

My personal choice would be the longer cruise. The SUN is a unique ship in the Norwegian fleet. She's just a wonderful girl and her cabins are a bit larger than the the other ships.

Also, I feel a stop in Tampa is a bit of a waste. I think the Sun's itinerary is the best out of the two. I would love to do Aruba and Curacao and Cartagena!

I don't know... An all inclusive sounds great but Occidental Xcaret has a man-made concrete beach covered with sand, I'd rather stay somewhere else. You can read the reviews on TripAdvisor.com

Each has its own to recommend it, but in my book the longer the cruise the better!

The OP stated Occidental Xcaret it must be a package deal with the cruise included.

That hotel is a part of the Riviera Maya option, not thr Cancun option. OP did not mention which hotel in Cancun.

we just did the Sun March 10/13 and would do her again in a heart beat.. she might be a older ship but still is in top shape.. the food, staff, casino was top notch.. we are looking at doing the Sun for Alaska next year...
