No one has replied yet for my roll call for the Shadow on AUG 1 to Seward..

 

So many of you seem to cruise all year round- someone join my cruise so I know someone!!!

 

Alaska is beautiful right? Dinner partners and canapés in our suite...

 

I feel that because it is a short cruise (7 days) all CC members would rather cruise a longer journey? All of you prefer Spirit? Maybe we chose the wrong first cruise......

My first cruise... I wanted to start with the top but just step my feet in the water... Don't judge :)

 

To me 7 days seems long. How long do you typically cruise? Perhaps my next I will join yours!

not judging you, just not for me a short trip on a ship or on land.

20 days and over is the length of trip that suits me.I find that it takes me 10 days to unwind and start to relax.

not joining you on your trip, though did do Alaska with SS a few years ago and had a super time. We were on the last saling of the season, so a month later than you, and we had a wonderful combination of wildlife and reasonable weather. If you have a chance to do a bear observation trip, grab it with both hands, fascinating and one of my all time highlights.

As to the length of voyage, I took a 7 day Baltic trip last year and was very concerned about it not being long enough to relax. We tend to prefer voyages of around 10 days or longer. I didn't think 7 days was going to be sufficient time to get to know and enjoy the company of fellow travellers, which has always been one of the most important aspects of a SS trip for us, so I had psyched myself up for a very different SS experience. I need not have worried, however, and even though it was a port intensive cruise, we still had plenty of opportunity to meet other passengers. Somehow, too, the crew were still able to get to know how we liked things in a very short time and unpacking with a bottle of champagne on hand ensured that relaxation was virtually guarnateed from the off.
