Ohh, here's an idea for the OP: go out on the deck, sit down in a deck chair and wait for the chair hoggs to come by. When someone puts down a book or towel and is about to leave, say out loud, "I wouldn't do that if I was you." If they say why, tell them that any paperback books that are left abandon are donated to the library and any towels will be brought to the passenger services desk to be turned in to housekeeping. If they don't believe you, wait until they leave and gather up the stuff. The items won't be there when they get back.:D:D:D

On the Sapphire a few weeks ago, the casino "hostess" told me that the casino was open until 4 am each morning and lively with gamblers.
I had the opposite announcement. Some casino manager came by twice while I was in the Sapphire (April 2013) casino to let me know that they casino was closing (slot machines too) by 2 AM. I thought I was "safe" since I had asked Passenger Services. The gal behind the counter actually left me to find the answer. She said they were open "late". To me, 2 AM is not late. But the casino was empty and I really am not that much of a night owl. I just wanted to play Goldfish (always occupied).

Love all the suggestions about chair hogs. I just don't understand this mind set. There are so many chairs.

I've never laughed so had on a CC post as I did with this one!Loved the typo on the crew cleaning pax! Even I had to read that twice to make sure I read that right. Lol

I'm a night owl so I typically stay up late until morning so this was all good information. (Watch, I'll end up going to bed early while on the cruise! Lol) ;)
There's no better time to slowly meander about the interior public areas, listening to the quiet piped-in music, and viewing the hundreds of paintings, items of memorabilia, perusing specialty menus, just taking in the ships as an astonishing work of art in and of itself. I find the time to be enchanting and mystical.

Take photos of the interior before they are full of passengers. Moving passengers can ruin a picture - but it's their cruise too. I got a up a few times at 6am and shot the atrium before the madness.
This is exactly what we do if we can't sleep or are awaken by a large wave.
