daffodiliaz Posted April 7, 2013 #1 Share Posted April 7, 2013 I've got my eye on the 5/12 sailing on the Pearl, Glacier Bay from Vancouver to Seattle. The $699 balcony is almost too good to pass up. 5/12 just happens to be Mother's Day, and as I would be sailing with my mother, I was wondering if NCL does anything special for the mothers? Have any of you sailed on Mother's or Father's Day? (I've tried the search function and found no mention.)
Cruise_More_Often Posted April 7, 2013 #2 Share Posted April 7, 2013 I think I found a carnation on my pillow on Mother's Day.
FuninWB Posted April 7, 2013 #3 Share Posted April 7, 2013 Yes, we were on the Dawn last Mother's Day. They had special cake in the buffet, but that was it as far as I know.
RetiredArmyCruiser Posted April 7, 2013 #4 Share Posted April 7, 2013 We left New York City for Bermuda on the Gem on Mother's day two years ago. No mention of Mother's Day at all.
dexddd Posted April 7, 2013 #5 Share Posted April 7, 2013 It has been a long time (2007) but they were selling bouquets as I recall but no, not much of anything else.
Sauer-kraut Posted April 7, 2013 #6 Share Posted April 7, 2013 Order a nice flower arrangement from the Bon Voyage department, that will be a nice touch! http://www.ncl.com/freestyle-cruise/bon-voyage-gifts
FuninWB Posted April 7, 2013 #7 Share Posted April 7, 2013 DH said he asked on the Dawn on the first day of the cruise to see what they would be doing. They advised him of the decorated cakes in the buffet. I recall three different decorated cakes. He had brought something on board to give me. It was the first day of our Bermuda stop, and we ate at a specialty restaurant onboard ( Le Bistro) that night where no mention at all was made of Mother's Day.Sorry. At least you know in advance. Good question.
