Titanic Museum Belfast

Recommended Posts

You'll most likely berth right across from it but because you have to go all the way out of the secured port area, down the street by the mall, around the corner, across the bridge, then a good distance down the street to the museum, a taxi would be best. If you can share with others on your roll call or that are waiting for a taxi, it will help defray the cost. Enjoy! :)

Also worth looking at is the Titanic dry dock, just a short walk from the Titanic Experience. They have short tours where they take you to the dry dock that the Titanic was in and also the Pump house.

Can anyone tell me the time it took to get from the museum back to the ship by taxi? We are trying to squeeze it in after another excursion. Thanks!

I'm curious about the above as well.

Also, is it easy in Belfast to get a taxi back to the port afterwards?

We are interested in the Belfast Titanic Museum (thank you to the previous poster that mentioned prepurchasing your tickets). And perhaps lunch at a pub before heading back to the ship. It looks easy enough to do on our own vs paying for a tour - but wondered how easy it was to grab a taxi back to the ship afterwards.

Thank you for any information you have to share. :)

We were there last year and taxis pulled up in front of the museum on a regular bases. After spending part of the morning at the museum we walked out and with in minutes got a taxi to take us into town.

Hi there, I live in Belfast. It's about 10 minutes by taxi from the port to the museum (Fonacab 02890333333- will cost approx £6).

Again, it is really, really easy to get into the city centre. It is about a 20 min / 2 mile walk from the Titanic Museum. Again about £5 by taxi.

The dock is on the opposite side of the river to the museum so you will see it as soon as you dock. The HOHO is really good here too - choose the red "Belfast Sightseeing One"

Where does one pick up this Hop on Hop off bus if coming off a cruise ship ?

There are various HOHO stops in the city centre, the main one is at Donegall Place, just infront of Primark/McD's/HMV.

You will see the guys in red coats selling tickets. There are a few different tours though...

I have seen a cruise shuttle bus going to and from the port into the city centre. There should be more info about this on your daily info sheet on the ship.

BTW wave as you come up Belfast Lough past my house and then my office just near the port! :)

Any other questions, ask away :)

Oh afternoon tea there is lovely! It's in the room with the grand staircase, so you have opportunities to have photos taken on the staircase too. You def need to pre book the tea!

If you intend on staying around there that day, check out the Titanic Pump House tour and the Nomadic

Trying to decide between the Titanic Walking Tour and the Titanic Museum, any information or comment as to which would be best.
