Alessandrina Posted April 10, 2013 #3 Share Posted April 10, 2013 While it is easily visible, you will still need a taxi to get to the museum - just because of the configuration of the waterway. Enjoy.
pinkfloyd4 Posted April 10, 2013 Author #4 Share Posted April 10, 2013 thank you for your replies,on the map of the dock area I did not know were we berthed. Taxi it is Dave:)
DrivesLikeMario Posted April 10, 2013 #5 Share Posted April 10, 2013 You'll most likely berth right across from it but because you have to go all the way out of the secured port area, down the street by the mall, around the corner, across the bridge, then a good distance down the street to the museum, a taxi would be best. If you can share with others on your roll call or that are waiting for a taxi, it will help defray the cost. Enjoy! :)
iain48 Posted April 10, 2013 #6 Share Posted April 10, 2013 You will need to take a taxi. 10 euros They possibly will take Euros, but the currency of Northern Ireland is Pounds Sterling. Iain
GreenValleyDogWalker Posted April 10, 2013 #7 Share Posted April 10, 2013 Be sure to purchase your tickets well in advance..we were there last August, and the day the ship was in, admission tickets were sold out a week prior... bilty Posted April 14, 2013 #9 Share Posted April 14, 2013 Also worth looking at is the Titanic dry dock, just a short walk from the Titanic Experience. They have short tours where they take you to the dry dock that the Titanic was in and also the Pump house.
pshaze Posted April 16, 2013 #10 Share Posted April 16, 2013 Can anyone tell me the time it took to get from the museum back to the ship by taxi? We are trying to squeeze it in after another excursion. Thanks!
deb63 Posted May 14, 2013 #11 Share Posted May 14, 2013 Can anyone tell me the time it took to get from the museum back to the ship by taxi? We are trying to squeeze it in after another excursion. Thanks! I'm curious about the above as well. Also, is it easy in Belfast to get a taxi back to the port afterwards? We are interested in the Belfast Titanic Museum (thank you to the previous poster that mentioned prepurchasing your tickets). And perhaps lunch at a pub before heading back to the ship. It looks easy enough to do on our own vs paying for a tour - but wondered how easy it was to grab a taxi back to the ship afterwards. Thank you for any information you have to share. :)
gkkapp Posted May 14, 2013 #12 Share Posted May 14, 2013 We were there last year and taxis pulled up in front of the museum on a regular bases. After spending part of the morning at the museum we walked out and with in minutes got a taxi to take us into town. <<<Karen>>>
deb63 Posted May 14, 2013 #13 Share Posted May 14, 2013 Wonderful to know about the taxi's. It makes sense as it is a tourist area, but having never been I would not want to risk getting stuck. Thank you so much.

Thank you for any information you have to share. :) Hi there, I live in Belfast. It's about 10 minutes by taxi from the port to the museum (Fonacab 02890333333- will cost approx £6). Again, it is really, really easy to get into the city centre. It is about a 20 min / 2 mile walk from the Titanic Museum. Again about £5 by taxi. The dock is on the opposite side of the river to the museum so you will see it as soon as you dock. The HOHO is really good here too - choose the red "Belfast Sightseeing One"

The Shutterbug Posted June 29, 2013 #19 Share Posted June 29, 2013 Where does one pick up this Hop on Hop off bus if coming off a cruise ship ? There are various HOHO stops in the city centre, the main one is at Donegall Place, just infront of Primark/McD's/HMV. https://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=donegall+place+belfast&ie=UTF-8&hq=&hnear=0x486108565202eb59:0x1b50fc51dd77412d,Donegall+Pl,+Belfast&gl=uk&ei=DVXPUYugLoO2PfTlgTg&ved=0CDUQ8gEwAA You will see the guys in red coats selling tickets. There are a few different tours though... http://www.belfastcitysightseeing.com/citytour/ http://www.allensbelfastbustours.com/ I have seen a cruise shuttle bus going to and from the port into the city centre. There should be more info about this on your daily info sheet on the ship. BTW wave as you come up Belfast Lough past my house and then my office just near the port! :) Any other questions, ask away :)
