New CAS tier calculation contrary to historical treatment?

I finally got around to calling CAS yesterday to check on my points/level after my Breakaway sailing - I had a lot of computer work to do which allowed me to sit in one place with the speakerphone on in order to wait the full hour it took for someone to answer! It took a while to get the first answer - roughly 8000 points and Hot status. I knew this was incorrect, as I had gotten way more than that on the Breakaway alone. I explained the situation, and the agent went off to investigate. After a while, she returned and said she had checked a "different" system, which said I had roughly 18,900 points and was Golden. I have no idea where this number came from, because by my own calculations I should have either ~16,000 or ~25,000, depending on how they are including at the moment. But since this "new" answer came from a "different" system, I am mostly concerned that the Casino Mgr will not have access to this other system on my next sailing, and I will have no proof as to my "newly earned" status. I plan to email CAS to confirm (in writing) my new status. What a complete mess this all is.. You'd think they could at least record our earned points correctly!

CAS is seriously screwed up.. For the record, I had miscalculated above, so disregard that statement. The above is my own quote, after calling CAS on Monday (or Tuesday:)). Over the phone, I was quoted 18,900 points, so I emailed for confirmation in writing. Received an email back saying that I have ~15,700 points.. I have been trying to figure out what my total should be. I sailed twice last year, once before the "new period" and then again in May 2012, and once since March 2013. My totals for those sailings were roughly 10,000 points (the one before March 2012), then 9000+ (my Sun sailing May 2012), and then another 12,000 for my Breakaway sailing in May 2013.. In no way do any two of those sailings add up to ~15,700, and the number is too high for just my Breakaway sailing.. I have emailed them to confirm the totals of all the sailings counted toward my status broken down, but at this point I think they are pulling numbers out of the air..

Come on now, let's give them a little more credit.

I'd guess they are utilizing a somewhat more scientific method to determine your earned points...

Yes--I agree....it does not much affect me..as I think no matter who or how they figure mine...I will always be lucky or hot..(they say lucky)---but I feel bad for those who really play more $ and deserve what they are due...in comps and perks......

CAS really needs to get its act together...
