London hotels require passport?

Just wanted in find out if upon checking in to our London Hotel we will have to supply our passports as you do in Italy. I booked a room as 2 adults & 1 child as my "child" misses their definition of child by 2 weeks. Otherwise room won't accommodate 3 adults evidently.

Yes sometimes you do have to supply passports, it depends on the hotel.
