tree.critter Posted May 8, 2013 #1 Share Posted May 8, 2013 I have asked some friends to join us on Dec. 7 Dream cruise, told them they could stay with us pre + post cruise and were trying to help them keep cost down as much as possible so went to book an inside room for this couple and it says "No rates available for the stateroom category and the number of travelers you selected." If we put in 3 for number of people many available rooms come up. I didn't click on all available rooms but all of the rooms I did try had at least 3 bunks. Do you think they limit the number of rooms with only 2 people?
big_duck Posted May 8, 2013 #2 Share Posted May 8, 2013 Yes they do, depending on ship and sailing. This one is obviously filling up so they have put it under booking restriction.
rickechambers1@aol.com Posted May 8, 2013 #3 Share Posted May 8, 2013 Try calling to book directly rather than on line.
tree.critter Posted May 8, 2013 Author #4 Share Posted May 8, 2013 Thanks for the confirmation BD, was hoping it was a glitch. Going to go ahead and give CCL a call as Rick suggested and will keep fingers crossed.
ibcnusoon Posted May 8, 2013 #5 Share Posted May 8, 2013 Yes, definitely call. Sounds like another technical problem with Carnival's IT department.
Julia’s Journey’s Posted May 8, 2013 #6 Share Posted May 8, 2013 Yes, definitely call. Sounds like another technical problem with Carnival's IT department. I don't think it's a technical problem, they can restrict those cabins to 3 or more people. I have had the reverse on Princess, I wanted to book a TG cruise with our 2 teens and even though there were cabins available the system would not allow more kids on the ship as they had reached there max for the kids programs even though they wouldn't have been in kids club they would not allow us to book the ship. 4 Adults could have booked though - crazy:eek::eek:
Rare shof515 Posted May 8, 2013 #7 Share Posted May 8, 2013 Try booking with a different travel agency then carnival. Some TA reserve a block of rooms so you might be able to get a cabin that way
rickechambers1@aol.com Posted May 9, 2013 #8 Share Posted May 9, 2013 OP. What was the outcome? Hope it worked out.
ibcnusoon Posted May 9, 2013 #9 Share Posted May 9, 2013 OP. What was the outcome? Hope it worked out. I just did a mock booking for December 7 on the Dream for 2 people and 4 categories of various interior cabins came up. Clearly, it was Carnival's crappy IT department that wouldn't allow anyone to book.
MrFunInTheSun Posted May 9, 2013 #10 Share Posted May 9, 2013 Has to have been a glitch. It let me book two people when doing a mock booking. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk. Please excuse any typographical errors.
winddawn Posted May 11, 2013 #11 Share Posted May 11, 2013 Try calling to book directly rather than on line. I second this suggestion. Some cabins are held back and don't show available when looking online, but a phone representative can help you with them.
