Sail in 10 days - shows bed as twins not king

Recommended Posts

A couple of days ago I was checking all my paperwork and I noticed my bed had been switched to twins instead of King. Changed it. Went back today, same thing again. Anyone else had problems?

Yeah, I've been having the same problem on the site. The overview shows "Twin". When I click on it to change it, it already shows "King". I'll deal with it when I get on the ship, if necessary. I've had to do it before. It's not a big deal.

if you get on board and they're twins, it takes the room steward 5 minutes to fix. we had this problem as summer, we had a king, needed twins, found him asked nicely and he stopped what he was doing and immediately fixed the beds.

really not a big deal.

enjoy your vacation. don't stress.

The room steward might not be able to change the bed configuration right away. But it should be changed by the time you come back from dinner.

I have been having the same problem. I have changed it from twin to king and when I go back it back to twin. Not going to mess with it anymore till we get on the ship.

I am 14 days from sailing and yesterday, I encountered the same thing...switched it back to king....I didn't even think to check today.

Yes, I know they can switch it once onboard, but it makes you wonder what else may be messed up....no biggie...but annoying at the same time.

Sent an email to Carnival about this issue. Here's their response.

Hello Eric,

Thank you for contacting us. We appreciate the opportunity to be of assistance.

We apologize for the challenges you are encountering on our web site. The issue you are encountering has been already reported. Our Internal help desk is aware and is working to resolve this issue as soon as possible. Although it shows two twin beds on the front end on our website the back end already shows a King size bed which is what you selected. For the most part the beds are already put together into a King size bed so you don't have to worry.

Thank you for choosing Carnival Cruise Lines and we look forward to welcoming you aboard.

Cordially,

I think this issue is happening to alot of people myself included. It's really not that big of a deal. If you get to your cabin and the bed is not correct, just tell your cabin steward and it will be corrected.

I travel with my father, so of course we need two twin beds - which I always check on the website.

Well in my 10 carnival cruises the bed has always been pushed together when we arrive at the cabin.

So, last cruise on the Fascination I asked our room steward why they are always together when I always ask on the website for them to be seperated.

He told me that they do not receive any direction or notification about how beds should be set up (and he had heard the complaint before) that he simply "guesses" and since my father and I are male/female with the same last name the room steward would guess that we are married and will push the beds together.

Like I said, 10 cruises and the beds have never been as requested, but the room stewards always fix it in a flash for us, it really is a non issue.

when I called to change rooms last night I mentioned this and she said it was a glitch. Sucks for the stewards but no worries when it comes to you. We usually have it at a king and we go into the room with two twins. Your steward will have it done by turndown service your first night.

Enjoy!

  • 2 weeks later...

Yeah, I know they can normally fix it in a jiffy, but I feel sorry for all the room stewards who are now going to have to change a bunch of beds!!

I keep "fixing" mine too...but it always says "twin", no matter how many times I change it!
