4 day vs 7 day

For us 4 days is too big a pain to bother. Even though we are Platinum we still have the hassle of getting to the pier, security, check in and then in a flash it is time to go through the drill to get off. We did 1 four day cruise in 2005 when the Sensation could not return to NOLA due to Katrina. We only paid $99.00 for an OV for 4 nights so in that respect it was a steal, but we decided after that cruise to never do a short cruise again unless it was a freebie. It generally takes us about 3 days to unwind on vacation and it felt like no sooner did I unpack than I was having the stress of packing it all up again. But, that is just us. The longer the better - best cruise for us was 15 nights long.

I prefer a 7 day cruise. This is all we have done until this past March when we went on Disney during spring break and they only had a 6 day available. It was not bad. We went with a 10 month old and I must say I got tired by day 6 :)

We are going on a 5 day cruise in July. I have never done a 5 day before so not sure how that will go. Hopefully it will be fun and wont feel like we are in/out. I wish we could go longer but this is all we can do while my parents watch the kids :D

I haven't read all the responses, but we are planning on doing a short one in September, and I'm sure it will feel shorter, compared to the 7 day that we have always done. I have been in the hospital within these past two years 6 times, and have wanted to cruise so bad. I feel like I'm pretty well healed up, so hopefully we can do a short one in September to Catalina Island, and Ensenada, Mexico.:)

I prefer 7-day, but due to price and health restrictions for family members, we've been restricted to 4-day.

We hope to do a 7-day on the miracle next year, depending on health and price; if nothing else then to try a new ship.

We've done 5 and 7 days - this will be flamed I'm sure but I feel like there is a higher class of people on the 7 days. On my shorter cruises they were booze cruises, tons of people who just want to get sloshed all day, every day. I also encountered said drunks being ugly to the crew which infuriates me.

we are booked for a 4 day in a few weeks and I plan on spending it on the serenity deck and not moving, hopefully I'll be away from the chaos.

That being said, there is no such thing as a bad cruise.

I just got back today from my first 4 night cruise. Having only done 7 day cruises in the past, I was worried it would seem too short, but it really didn't. My sister wanted a short cruise since it was her first time traveling without her kids. We flew down on Wednesday, cruised Thursday through Monday, and flew home today. So yes, we DID fly down from Boston for this short cruise, but we got flights for less than $170 so we thought it was worth it. I feel like I had a full, enjoyable, relaxing, and fun vacation and would do a 4-5 night cruise again.

I did find this to be true, BUT the drunks provided most of our daily entertainment. We actually sought them out for people watching, whether in the clubs, casino, at karaoke, or on the lido. Fortunately, we never saw them being rude or mean to the crew and we had many laughs at their antics. :D

We had only been on 7 or 8 day cruises. Then planned a cruise for 4 newbie couples. So thought a 5 day would be safer. Good thing we did! One lady was seasick 3days out of 5. Two other couples are ready to cruise again.

Without any newbies, I'd never go less than a 7 day unless it's a b2b. You just get in the mode and then its over.
