We are booked on the 14 night 2/16/14 sailing of the Nieuw Amsterdam. It can also be booked as a 7 day cruise so I'm wondering when the formal nights will be and how many? Thanks!

HAL usually has 2 formal nights during a 7 day cruise. 14 day will have 4 formal nights.

Formal nights are usually on sea days or days when you leave port early. So it varies from cruise to cruise. In 14 days, you will probably have 4.

 

You can count on first and 7th nights as not formal, as they are the first and last days of the 7-night cruise. Ditto first and last of the second 7-day cruise.

If you give us your itineray, we likely can tell you which nights probably will be formal.

 

It's impossible to know all the itineraries for all the ships. :)
