Hi,

We are looking for suggestions for a hotel in Fort Lauderdale for a one night stay close to the port and convenient for last minute shopping._Fifteen thousand in port the next day!

I enjoyed the Embassy Suites the last time I was there.

There was a small shopping center and grocery store about a block away.

I second the Embassy Suites recommendation- it fits the bill, and you will see lots of info about it on the Florida Departures board.

 

15K people is about a standard winter weekend day in FLL. Wait until the number nears 25 or 30K. I think the record is 28K plus. By the way, that would be, in your case, 15K getting off, and 15K getting on.
