Sutho Posted May 22, 2013 #1 Share Posted May 22, 2013 Time for another visitor to Australia and as usual starting with the atrium photos. It is a three deck atrium with the top being the piano bar
Sutho Posted May 22, 2013 Author #2 Share Posted May 22, 2013 With the wide angle lens this gives a better idea of how the staircase looks. Back to the top of the atrium the ship does have a dedicated library to a seperate room to the front of the atrium. Further forward is Cafe Vivo the chocolate and coffee bar onbaord just outside the botique cinema that runs films all day.
Sutho Posted May 22, 2013 Author #3 Share Posted May 22, 2013 As usual the front of the ship is the main theatre. Obviously a large one and always a free seat in it. The views are excellent and it is easily and quickly accessed with all the entry/exit points. All ships have a traditional bar onboard that I know of like Princess has their wheelhouse, Aurora and Oriana have Andersons, Arcadia has the Rising Sun Pub. Sutho Posted May 22, 2013 Author #4 Share Posted May 22, 2013 This nightclub Electra will be removed in its next refit. Before the ship was allocated to P&O it was being built for HAL and Cunard and this room was supposed to be the childrens club as you can see from the low chairs. As Arcadia is adult only they turned it into a disco ans dimmed the lights. The Globe which is the alternate entertainment venue will be enlarged in the refit. It does get crowded and is normally used for dancing. To the outside of the globe in the passageway is the art gallery. Back to the atrium again is intermezzo bar and the entrance to ocean grill. Sutho Posted May 22, 2013 Author #7 Share Posted May 22, 2013 Heading to the top and front is the usual crows nest on some P&O ships. Then midships is a kind of hidden away bar that leads to another spexialty restaurant. The specialty asian restuarant is behind it.

jessica3152 Posted May 27, 2013 #10 Share Posted May 27, 2013 Ship is nice but very beige. I have no desire to go on an adults-only cruiseship however. I picture a heap of grumpy pensioners with zimmer frames and pretentious passengers trying to out-do one another as to whose been on the most cruises....yawn. coastiedee Posted May 27, 2013 #11 Share Posted May 27, 2013 Thanks Sutho another fav of mine:) I prefer adults only ships. Most children these day seem to leave their manners at home whilst on a cruise. Also the most intelligent conversations have come from the older folk that I meet on cruises, very interesting people indeed a life time full of knowledge.;)
Sutho Posted May 27, 2013 Author #12 Share Posted May 27, 2013 Adult only was not too bad at all. There were no frames, scooters or walking sticks or not too many. The world cruise is either too expensive or involves flying for many people in that category. For me it was still a relaxing cruise with great entertainment and ports and plenty to do. It was not my first choice of ship but just opportunistic with the right itinerary. The ships I have liked the best are Aurora, Sapphire Princess and Celebrity Solstice. All of these ships have a very small amount of children and families. Celebrity Solstice had a younger age group and was more modern and trendy. Arcadia can offer a relaxing cruise. I dont really care how old or young the age group is as long as it is not crowded and congested and hectic.
