Side of ship vs. Suite upgrade

So good news I was upgraded to a mini suite! However I'm on a northbound cruise and was in a starboard midship balcony, now I'm in a port minisuite. Will the side of the ship Really matter that much? The minisuites are on the pool deck so I figure we can access the other side easily.

In Alaska, I don't think it matters what side of the ship you are on....At the glaciers, the ship turns in all directions....and it is all beautiful. Have done the inside passage several times....and live here....:)

I've done the northbound cruise on both sides and they're both good. You will want to be up and about during lots of the scenic cruising. Take the upgrade and enjoy!

I agree, go for the upgrade. Although you didn't say which cruise line you will be on, I'm sure you will enjoy it.

We were in a mini suite on the Star Princess on our first Alaska cruise.

We used our balcony every day. We were out on our balcony the entire time while cruising through Tracy Arm! Fantastic views.
