YVR - Richmond International Night Market

Recommended Posts

Currently there is only Night market in Vancouver.

This is not correct, both of the Richmond night markets are in full swing. The Richmond Night Market commenced May 17th and the International Summer Night Market on May 10th and both run into the fall..

It's excellent in my mind, but could be considered somewhat unusual by North American standards, as it's mostly Chinese street food items.

Good! Got my taste buds locked in for the "spiral fried potato" and deep fried squid :p

It's been quite the back and forth between the operators of the two night markets in Richmond, and eager to get in on the action, the downtown Chinatown has their own going now too.

For details, here are the websites for all three. The advantage is the 1st one is the proximity to the BRIDGEPORT Skytrain station/transit hub making it easy to get to. The location of the 2nd was always a pain for parking, and almost inaccessible by Transit. I have no idea how the downtown Keefer street festivities will work out, but it's going to be quite a bit smaller, but easily accessible from the lower station entrance of Stadium Skytrain station for those visiting from out of town.

I think you got cut-&-paste-drunk SB - two links to Keefer and none to the other Richmond one! http://www.richmondnightmarket.com/

You're right; thanks for pointing that out. Here are the three (correct) links

Same types of food at both Night Markets. Richmond nightmarket by river rock casino is $2 dollar entrance but free parking and easy skytrain access. Summer nightmarket on vulcan is free admission but parking is not and it is more difficult to get there by transit. I prefer the Richmond Nughtmarket by river rock. Popcorn chicken, deep fried squid, siu mai and har gow, and mango icy's are my faves. There was a stand that had deep fried milk which was different but pretty good. Bring your appetite and friends to share your food wit

For anyone that's visited either of the Richmond night markets this year, have you seen the Korean waffles? I saw a picture on yelp from 2010. I haven't had real Korean waffles in over 10 years!

Sorry didn't see any Korean waffles, closest thing I can recall was those egg shaped waffles. Was at the one on River Road last week, next to River Rock Casino.

Had to leave early, Kid was starting fuss as he was seeing everything from below the belt line :p
