Ok lets analyze this Mom says:

1- Staff much better in Allure (but could this be because the staff is still new on this ship and getting to know things?)

2- Breakaway stunning

3- Food comparable

4- Prefer Breakaway Layout better

To sum this up, I have to say they are even. (50%/50%)

But which one does she prefer when it comes to the entertainment, activities?

I can't wait until you get back, Lynda, to read your review. One of my favorite ships is Epic. I love sitting upstairs in Spice (where the food is lol) at a table right by the water, reading my book, and just relaxing. Having not been on the Breakaway yet, I think my biggest perceived disappointment is the change in Spice. I really loved the stadium seating, and the spots you could go to relax by the water but not be on top of everyone else. I think you were on Epic? I am looking forward to reading your thoughts about Breakaway when you return.

She liked the shows better on the Allure and I think the solarium is what dictates the winning vote.

But the case is that of you ask her which one she liked better. She flat out responds Allure. You can't debate that. It's her opinion after all, and nothing more.

My reasoning is different than hers, as I take much more into consideration.

If I may.. while we're all eagerly awaiting the next installment of Gambee's review (Oh hell, it's not just a review, it's the next great travel novella ;)) I was hoping some of you might answer a question for me.

We have only ever cruised Carnival, and we are finally branching out and are planning the Breakaway for 2014. I've always found managing our bookings with Carnival very easy. They have a webpage that you can check at any time, which gives you the current cruise rate portion of your cabin category; should you be so lucky as to see the price drop, you can simply fill out a short form and apply for the lesser fare - easy peasy. So, my question is - does NCL have such a thing, or must you always contact your TA or your NCL reservationist?

Thanks for allowing the commercial interruption :p

My guess is his vote is for Allure. :D

Me too! :) And as far as the layout, I don't know if anything could beat Central Park and the Boardwalk! I've never experienced them but I can't wait to see those neighborhoods at the end of this month!!

Gambee ~ I got the camera today and just finished reading the manual and installed the CD on to my mac! I don't have an SD card in it yet but I can still take a picture and see it...wow do I LOVE it so far!!! It was much more compact than I thought it would be, which is one of the main selling points to me! :D Also I got the white version and it looks stunning. Loving it so much Gambee! Going to take it out tonight to test it out! Getting it ready for the Allure!!

BTW, have you changed any of the settings and also, I like your Oakley's in one of the last pictures you posted! They are my favorite brand, very stylish, comfortable and high quality, good when you work at a pool like me! :D

Wow - that really is easy! With NCL, you either have to call your TA or your PCC (or email them) to get the price drop. You have to monitor NCL's web site as well to see if the price dropped.

It really is!

So I'm guessing with NCL you pretty much have to do a mock booking to see if anything changed. One more thing to add to my "Obessive Over Planning" to-do list

I've never used it, as I'm usually a guest of Casinos at Sea these days, but I've heard of a site called cruise fish dot com that you pay a small fee to and they monitor it for you and send you updates. Apparently it's great.

Hope this helps!

Whew!! It took me a while, but I'm finally all caught up.

Gambee, I'm surprised by the fact that you were an absolute nervous wreck about meeting the people that you had been "talking" to online for months. I will say, I find it very endearing that you are so humble in person. It reminds me of the late GREAT entertainer and talk-show host Johnny Carson; he said that even in his 30th year of doing what he did, that he also was an absolute wreck every single night before he walked out from behind the curtain.

Loving this review!

I was on the Summit in March, when I saw some of the same paintings. I wanted to buy the one with the children posing with the cat and dog. (the one above the Statue of Liberty) (the section above Mickey and Pooh). I don't remember the price, but I wasn't going to pay that amount to put painting in my grandsons' room.:D

Has the person who took a picture of you while you were taking a picture of the bowling ally, ever been seen again???

That is a really good question! He did say that it was a CC member group so we should be able to hunt her down... :D

I'm going to have to start stalking you on CC, Gambee, to find out when you book another cruise so I can book it too!:p:o

I use the "fish" website all the time. Especially before I even book. It's the easiest way to determine which week of an itinerary is the cheapest for the category you are interested in. They show the prices for each individual category, when it last changed price, whether it went up or down, etc. You can check what the B1 or SF or whatever cabin/suite you are interested in for several weeks without doing a mock booking for each week. You can check the prices yourself at anytime, or pay $1 to have them email you when any or all of the category prices change. I highly recommend it! :) :) :)

There is no comparison Allure wins by a mile.

After lunch we went to the room to change into our swim suits. The rest of the day was spend by the pools, jacuzzis and water slides.

I believe first we went to H2O to the jacuzzies and spend a few hours there.

These are all with the underwater camera.

I really like this waterfall, I am sure under warm weather it will get lots of use.
